Yellowstone Hike (from Lily Pad Lake to Artist’s Point)
Pantone swatches and pencil
Dimensions variable
2016

The installation is a visual record of a hike in Yellowstone National Park in August of 2016, on which the precise colors of various objects along the path were recorded using a Pantone color book. The installation is a sequence of 340 Pantone chips affixed directly to the wall, which vary in height to reflect the changing elevation of the walk. Penciled labels for each chip reference the sights encountered during the hike.
