The colored filters used in this piece are based on the spectral emission of Kepler 186, which is a red dwarf star located in the constellation Cygnus about 492 light years away from Earth. Kepler 186 is famous for its planet Kepler 186f which is the first Earth-sized planet discovered in the habitable zone of another star.
