For this project 15 stones were placed in the reflecting pool at the Mies Barcelona Pavilion in the style of the Ryōan-Ji garden in Kyoto. This intervention creates a dialogue between the ancient Zen garden and the famous monument of Modernism. As in Ryōan-Ji, only 14 of the 15 stones can be seen from any vantage point on the long viewing bench along the pavilion wall, reinforcing the complexity of viewing the structure itself.
