Bauhaus Light (Kandinsky’s Studio/Klee’s Studio, afternoon effect)
Fluorescent fixtures and filters
Dimensions variable
2017
This work recreates the light measured in Kandinsky and Paul Klee’s studios at the Bauhaus. The studios were next door to each other, separated by a wall. The light measured in each room was a bit different because the windows faced different directions. The colors are taken from two paintings by the artists.
